Our clients tend to fall within the following categories:

Individuals requiring advice on estate planning, capital gains tax and taxation on their personal income such as property income, pensions, benefits from employment etc.  Typically, this would cover issues such as reducing exposure to inheritance tax whilst ensuring your income and capital requirements continue to be met, ensuring you receive all of the available reliefs when calculating your capital gains tax or income tax liability, advising on how to sell capital items such as when and proportions and preparing tax returns to include all taxable income and allowable expenditure.  School and university fees are also a big area here.

Small and medium sized businesses.  Here, we would seek to ensure all tax reliefs are obtained, particularly regarding raising finance under the Enterprise Investment Scheme, putting tax efficient share option schemes in place, acquiring or dividing up a business, the options on starting a business and bringing it to an end.

Non-UK resident and/or non-UK domiciled individuals.  Whilst this is a particularly complex area, it provides for even more planning opportunities, whether an employee coming to the UK or working abroad; a business establishing itself in the UK or abroad; or those with estates consisting of UK and overseas assets.

Other accountancy practices, legal firms and financial advisors.  Many firms don’t have the in-house expertise to cover more complex tax issues.  We provide an on-going service to other professionals whose clients require assistance on such particular issues. This helps the smaller firms retain their clients whilst having peace of mind that their client is receiving the hands-on advice and service that their client is used to.
